Visit Ocean City Now!

Before it's too late!

I saw this this morning and it made me laugh. Kind of reminded me of a MST3K, (Mystery Science Theater 3000), type of skit. I miss that show.

See what happens when you can't go to ILUG

You're stuck in the States sitting on the couch surfing for goofy stuff on the web rather then having a pint. By the way, do they have Bud Light in Dublin?

Caption this!

Since my wife and my hetero lifemate have already thrown me under the bus, why not everyone else? Have at it!

So Trixie starts the new job today

My lovely wife has set off on her new career this morning working at an animal hospital. Being the supportive husband I am, I fired off an SMS to her. The following is the conversation via SMS:

Me: I love you babe, good luck!
Trixie: Luv U 2! Thanks :-)
Me: Knock em dead!
Trixie: Not a good note for a hospital job sweetie. LOL

Ya, kinda forgot about that hospital/keeping things alive aspect of the job.

And this one goes out to all my Detroit readers

Andy says: After being up there this past weekend and seeing the fight go on in City Council, it's amazing anyone can put up with that city anymore.

One of these days...

I'll get back to some serious Notes/Domino related blogging. Like how I am on the great hunt to find Quickr Entry. In the meantime, enjoy this little election year gem.

More fun with politics!

Okay, we all know men are from Mars and women are from Venus. But I never knew that cats are Democrats and Dogs are Republicans, but I guess it kind of makes sense.

You just got to love election years in the States.

Feeling blue?

Just remember kids, Rick Astley has got your back!

Mandles!

I think the JalapeƱo Cheeseburger would be the one for me!

Now that's what I'm talkin about!

Okay. I have had not just a good day, but a great frakin' day! First, we got to sleep in! Of course, anything past 6 AM is sleeping in. After getting to watch a little bit of cartoons, we decided that we were going to have a family "no one is sick, injured or otherwise out of commission so we are getting out of the house" fun day. Took the kids out to lunch, went bowling, did some shopping and otherwise just got out of the house and had us some fun. It was the kind of day we've been waiting on around here. Just get out and play! The kids had a great time as well as us. And after all that we made it back home just in time to catch the Budweiser Shootout. The first official NASCAR event of the year. Wow! What a race! Dale Earnhardt Jr won the race just nudging past Tony Stewart. Jr. really benefited from his Hendrick team watching his back. And if tonight is an indication of next weeks running of the Daytona 500, we're in for one hell of a race.
So, with the day drawing to a close and a thunderstorm with snow falling firing up along the massive cold front moving through the area, I think I'll call it a day.
(Seriously. Thunder, lighting, snow and it's suppose to be 18 degrees tomorrow. Weird)

You must choose, but choose wisely!

There is nothing worse then having $50 to spend on Amazon.com. I don't normally splurge on myself, so after getting a $50 gift card from a vendor at Lotusphere, it took me a few weeks to decide what to buy. I always make fun on my kids going through the same torturous choices when they are at Toys R Us trying to spend the gift cards that they get.
So after a few days of surfing, I came across something that I have been wanting to get for some time now, "The World's Greatest Super-Heroes" by Paul Dini and Alex Ross. I've looked at this book several times in Borders and love the artwork in it. And what I've read of the stories within, it's a pretty solid volume.
So now with the weekend weather remaining cold, clouds and snowy, I am really hoping this thing shows up in the mail today. It left Pittsburgh yesterday, so hopefully it will make it the 70 or so miles west today! Wifey has scrap booking planned for the weekend, so I think I'll be able to get away with getting lost in some Super Hero mythology.

Be an effective ruler of your geeks!

Not since the publication of the book "Make It So" has there been as good of a reference manual for a manager, (that happens to be a geek or just runs an IT department), to appreciate. I present the following link:

I would say that Rule #5 applies to Domino Admins. We are the "Han Solo" type after all.

It's Fat Tuesday!

But then again, every Tuesday is fat Tuesday for me. Oh well

Happy Mardi Gras peoples!

Can someone explain this to me?

Why is there a "red carpet" at the Super Bowl? It's a football game for Pete's sake! And why is Seacrest a part of it. I mean when I think of Super Bowl pre-game activities, I don't think Ryan Seacrest. What is our universe coming to?

Harrumph!

How to spend a day off....

Sure, you can have your Wii's, PS3's, XBox 360's. 3D rendered graphics, surround sound, all that jazz.
But in the end, there is nothing better then going old school.

The '08 Election

(You know if it wasn't for South Park, I wouldn't know who Xenu is. Or understand Mormon's for the matter.)

Even the unbelievers are blogging about it!

My hetero-mate and favorite superhero, Megaton Maynard, had recently posted on his blog a perplexing question. Just what is a "Lotusphere"? I've explained to him that we are not some cult or some off-shoot of Scientology, but I still don't think that he believes me. Anyways, I figured it would be worth a giggle.

Thank you nice lady....whoever you are

We all have our daily routines in the morning. Most people stop to get a coffee at their favorite gas station/restaurant/coffee shop. For me, it's the McDonald's drive-thru to get my large unsweetened ice tea. No sugar, no lemon, just plain old ice tea. My daily source of caffeine.
So like many mornings before and many more to come I pulled up to the drive-thru to order and was told to pull around to the first window. At the window, the girl leaned out to tell me that the women in the car behind me had instructed her that she was buying. Confused, I turn around to try and see who it is. But because of the darkness and her headlights in my eyes, I couldn't see. I yelled out a "Thank You!" and pulled up to the next window looking in the mirror to try and figure out who it is. After getting my cup from the second window, I pulled up ahead off to the side to wait for them to pass and get an idea who it was. Seconds later she passed by, shoots me a wave and drives off. Didn't recognize the car or person, so I returned the wave and drove off myself.

So whoever you are, thank you again!
